Seasonal Mini-Games: Themed Booster Packs
Our vision for the future of A Life In Purgatory involves expanding the conflict through smaller, highly-themed expansions that serve a dual purpose: they can be integrated seamlessly into the main game, or played standalone as quick, two-player matches.
What is a Booster Mini-Game?
These packs are designed to be affordable additions that keep the game fresh throughout the year, celebrating certain events or seasons:

New Characters: Each pack will introduce 2 new Character Cards with unique starting Life Token counts and initiative values.

Themed Cards: You’ll get a mix of new Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory Cards that revolve around a specific event or theme.

Cost and Quality: These booster boxes will be priced lower than the core game but maintain the exact same premium card quality, ensuring a consistent look and feel across your entire collection.

Opening the Gates: The 6–8 Player Expansion
The high-stakes bluffing and voting mechanics of A Life In Purgatory scale incredibly well, and we constantly hear requests for larger game support. We are excited to announce plans for a major expansion that will formally support groups of 6 to 8 players.
More Chaos, More Strategy
Expanding the player count is more than just adding more components; it’s about balancing the entire social dynamic:

Balancing the Group Verdict: In larger groups, the Group Verdict (the vote) becomes much more complex. We are testing new rules to ensure that a skilled liar can still influence a crowd of eight, and that the consequences for a failed bluff remain meaningful.

Faster Play Flow: To keep the game moving with more players, we are introducing new mechanics or Character Card abilities that help accelerate the Purgatory Challenge phase, ensuring everyone remains engaged, even when it's not their turn.

New Life Tokens and Indicators: The expansion will include the necessary extra Life Tokens and Lie/Truth Indicator Cards required for larger group play, all matching the style and quality of the original game.
