Summer Shows, New Products, and Expanding Purgatory!

Hey Everyone,

It has been an absolutely incredible year so far. Following the amazing reception and invaluable feedback we received from you all at the UK Games Expo, we’ve been working non-stop behind the scenes. We heard you loud and clear: you want more tactical deception, more high-quality components, and ways to bring even more friends into the fold.

When we first drew up this game on blank kraft card back in August 2024, the goal was to "fix" the predictability of standard trivia games by adding a psychological layer of strategy and bluffing. Today, our core focus remains exactly the same: creating an exceptionally high-quality product that you will love to bring to the table night after night.

What we're working on next

We are currently deep in the design and testing phase for two brand-new additions to the A Life In Purgatory line-up. Because replayability and balance are everything to us, we are rigorously playtesting every single card variation to guarantee top-tier mechanical quality before they hit your tables.

Here is what we are aiming to bring to market next year:

• The New Booster Pack Set: A massive influx of content featuring 64 brand-new cards to completely shake up your strategies, introduce fresh character dynamics, and offer brand-new opportunities to lie your way to victory.

• The Multiplayer Expansion: You asked for bigger game nights, and we delivered. While our core game is a tight, competitive 2–4 player experience, the expansion we are working on blows the doors wide open from 4 to 8 players!

We're adjusting the cards and balancing the mechanics so that even at 8 players, the game remains cheat-proof and fiercely strategic. We’re aiming to debut these at exhibitions next year once they are absolutely perfect.

 

Brand-New Merchandise & Art Showcase 

Thanks to the fantastic feedback at the UK Games Expo, we are officially expanding our merchandise range. We want to give you high-quality ways to display your love for the game without losing sight of the distinct, quirky aesthetic you fell in love with.

We are turning our favourite character designs into physical collectibles! Keep an eye out at our upcoming shows for new premium gear, including:

Looking Ahead: New Worlds on the Horizon 

While our primary love is growing the A Life In Purgatory universe, our late-night flashes of inspiration haven't stopped. We currently have a few entirely new game concepts in active development. We are pushing hard to have prototypes ready for you to look at by the end of the year. Stay tuned, because we can't wait to share these brand-new mechanics and worlds with you soon.
